ANAHEIM, California – A man and a woman both suffered life-threatening injuries after their Ford Aerostar van crashed with a Coca Cola delivery truck Monday afternoon on Lincoln Avenue at Rio Vista Street, according to a report in the Orange County Register.
The crash took place after the driver of the van allegedly ran a red light while traveling southbound on Rio Vista and then crashed broadside into the massive truck as it headed westbound on Lincoln Avenue.
The male victim was trapped in the wreckage until emergency workers with Anaheim Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene and used hydraulic equipment to free the man.
Paramedics responding to the 2:50 p.m. crash rushed both victims to UCI Medical Center in Orange, however, the truck driver was not injured in the traffic accident.
