FALLBROOK, California – Brandon Nash Blodgett, 26, of Vista was killed Tuesday morning killed in a head-on collision with a Sterling flatbed truck on State Route 76, according to news reports and a press release issued by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office.

Blodgett was driving a stolen 2001 Nissan Frontier pickup truck and traveling east on the 76 freeway just west of S. Mission Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the center divider lane into opposing westbound traffic where the collision took place. The flatbed truck driver, 33, was not injured in the crash.

The young man was pronounced dead at the scene of the traffic accident, the report said.
