YUCAIPA, California (Feb. 12, 2013) – A motorcyclist was critically injured Tuesday morning after the rider was unable to avoid a three-vehicle car crash on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway just east of Yucaipa Boulevard, according to a dispatch report issued by the California Highway Patrol.
“The rider was lying in the roadway,” the report said. “Three vehicles rear-ended each other, but the motorcycle couldn’t stop in time.”
Just after 7 a.m., paramedics responded to the scene of the multivehicle car accident and transported the injured motorcycle rider to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of moderate to major injuries, the report said.
The crash blocked the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes and only the right side of the roadway was open to traffic. The three vehicles involved in the crash and the motorcycle were all towed from the scene of the wreck, the report said.
