WEST LOS ANGELES: Three-Vehicle Injury Car Crash on I-405 Freeway at W. Rosecrans Avenue

WEST LOS ANGELES, California (June 19, 2013) – Police responded to a three-vehicle injury traffic accident Wednesday morning on the southbound Interstate 405 freeway at West Rosecrans Avenue, according to a dispatch report issued by the California Highway Patrol.

About 7:11 a.m., CHP officers say the motorists crashed and one vehicle spun out and was facing the wrong way on the freeway. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to the accident scene with an ambulance to treat those who were injured.

A black Mitsubishi sedan was blocking the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes and another vehicle was blocking the No. 5 lane, the report said. At least one vehicle was towed from the crash site. The roadway was clear by 8:09 a.m., CHP reported.

FONTANA: Carlos Morales Guzman, 18, of Fontana Struck, Killed by Train at Crossing

FONTANA, California (June 17, 2013) — Carlos Morales Guzman, 18, of Fontana was killed early Saturday morning when he attempted to cross railroad tracks in front of a train on his bicycle, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

About 5:15 a.m., Guzman was riding his bicycle northbound on Beech Avenue just north of Ceres Avenue when the train struck him, the report said. Paramedics pronounced Guzman dead at the scene of the crash.

The collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Suspected Drunk Driver Drives Under Semi-Truck

SAN MARCOS, California (June 13, 2013) – A suspected drunken driver was arrested early this morning after he wedged his car under a semi-truck while driving on Highway 78 in San Marcos. The man has a female passenger in his vehicle and she was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. According to The California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on eastbound Highway 78 at Nordahl Road at about 1 a.m.

Paul Harmon, 55, of Sandy Valley Killed in Head-on Motorcycle Crash on Lecopa Road

SANDY VALLEY, California (06/13/2013) – Motorcyclist Paul Harmon, 55, of Sandy Valley was killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash with a truck on Lecopa Road, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

About 12:44 p.m., CHP officers were called to the scene of the fatal crash after receiving a 911 call about traffic accident.

The Primm Valley Fire Department paramedics also responded to the motorcycle accident, but Harmon had already died at the scene by the time they arrived.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

PATTERSON: Fatal Crash Involving Two Vehicles and Big Rig on Highway 33 at Zacharias Road

MODESTO, California (June 12, 2013) – One person is dead and several others injured in a three-vehicle car crash early Wednesday morning at the intersection of State Route Highway 33 and Zacharias Road near Patterson City, according to a dispatch report issued by the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 5 a.m., the drivers of a black pickup truck, a white van and a semi tractor trailer truck collided at the intersection just north of Eucalyptus Avenue, killing one person at the scene of the crash. The two-lane highway, which runs parallel to railroad tracks, intersects with Zacharias Road where there is a stop sign.

The black pickup truck had severe front-end damage, but the white van had moderate damage to its front left side, according to photographs posted with a story on the Modesto Bee’s website.
