TEMECULA, California — Jason Hart, 27, of Temecula was killed early Sunday morning after a suspected drunk driver collided broadside into his car at the intersection of Rancho California and Moraga roads, according to a Riverside County Sheriff Coroner report.

Temecula Police officers and paramedics arriving at the scene noted that Hart was not breathing when they arrived. He was treated at the scene of the crash and quickly transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar where he died about an hour later at 6:27, the report said.  The report indicated that Hart was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not ejected.

Police say Hart was traveling westbound on Rancho California driving toward the intersection with Moraga and the other driver was traveling on the same road in the opposite direction. The two vehicles collided and Hart’s car veered into a brick wall at the intersection. The roadway was closed for about five hours as a police Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team investigated the scene.

“This is a deadly roadway as several crashes have been reported at various intersections here in recent months,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, founder of the Seegmiller Law Firm. “Sadly these innocent victims don’t stand a chance against someone who is incapable of driving safely because they are pumped up with alcohol.”

Anyone with information that would assist the officers investigating this collision is encouraged to call the Temecula Police Department’s Traffic Division at 951-696-3000.
