FULLERTON, California  –  One man was injured after his motorcycle crashed with the driver of a minivan early Tuesday morning on Raymond Avenue at the intersection with Orangethorpe Avenue, according to a report in the Orange County Register newspaper.

The 6:50 a.m. motorcycle crash resulted in non-life threatening injuries for the motorcyclist and no injuries were reported for the occupants of the minivan. The motorcycle rider was transported by paramedics to UCI Medical Center, according to the article.

In Fullerton, there were no motorcyclist deaths and 34 reported injuries to motorcyclists in 2009, according to the CHP report. Overall traffic accidents in the city resulted in five deaths and 761 injuries in 2009.

In the United States, motorcyclist injuries made a significant drop, down roughly 9% to 82,000 injuries reported in 2010 compared to 90,000 injuries the year before. Fatal accidents were slightly up, 4,502 deaths were reported in 2010 compared to 4,469 in 2009.

FULLERTON, California — Muhdin Jemal allegedly lost control of his Yamaha R6 motoricycle and was struck and killed Thursday night by several motorists on the southbound State Route 57 freeway near Imperial Highway, according to the Orange County Coroner Department and California Highway Patrol reports.

Jemal, 30, of Fullerton, was apparently thrown off his motorcycle and struck first by a Dodge Durango and then a Hyundai Elantra sedan about 10 p.m., according to police and news reports about the motorcycle accident. Jemal died at the scene of the motorcycle accident

Police said one driver fled the scene of the crash and there could also be others who were involved and left the scene. Police arrested the 18-year-old driver of the Dodge at his home on felony hit and run charges for leaving the scene of the motorcycle accident.

No other party was involved in roughly 33% of the 406 motorcyclists involved in fatal collisions.  In single-vehicle fatal motorcycle accidents, it was determined that the motorcyclist themself was at fault 93% of the time
