INDIO, California — Ernest Morreo, 77, of Thermal, was struck broadside and killed early Friday night by another vehicle at the intersection of Jackson Street and 64^th Avenue, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The fatal traffic collision was reported about 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Paramedics transported the injured man to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio where he died of his injuries about 8:22 p.m. the same night.
