MISSION VIEJO, California (May 8, 2013) –Ana Martinez, 36, of Trabuco Canyon was killed Tuesday night after a suspected repeat drunk driver crashed head-on into her minivan while driving the wrong way on Santa Margarita Parkway, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

Just before midnight on May 7, William Carroll, 42, of Mission Viejo was driving his red and black Ford 250 pickup truck when he turned into opposing traffic on Santa Margarita Parkway. Carroll allegedly crashed head-on into Martinez’s white Toyota Sienna minivan.

Williams, a mother of three children ages 7 to 14 years old, died at the scene of the crash. Paramedics transported  Williams by ambulance to Mission Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. His injuries are not life-threatening.

“This is a tragedy for the family of this young mother,” said Attorney West Seegmiller. “While this man may be held accountable in criminal court for his actions last night it’s important that a civil lawsuit be filed to ensure her children are taken care of financially.”

SEAL BEACH, California (March 6, 2013) — Larry Angelo, 68, of Fontana died in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning on the Interstate 405 freeway near the State Route 22 freeway, according to a press release issued by the Orange County Sheriff Coroner Department.

Just before 8 a.m. during the morning commute, Angelo was traveling northbound on the I-405 when he somehow lost control of his bike and fell into the roadway where he was struck by an oncoming pickup truck carrying lawnmowers just north of the eastbound State Route 22 freeway, the report said. The driver of the truck was not able to avoid hitting the motorcyclist, according to news reports.

The Westminster California Highway Patrol station is investigating the crash to determine what happened and liability for the accident.

“As a motorcyclist myself, I know how dangerous it is to travel on our busy roadways especially during the busy morning commutes here in Southern California,” said Attorney West Seegmiller.  “Drivers must always be alert for motorcyclists in an effort to ensure their safety and prevent accidents.”

ANAHEIM, California (Feb. 10, 2013) – Sheyla Mendoza, Stephanie Henriquez and Carmen Mendoza were killed Saturday night after they were struck by a suspected drunk driver while they were crossing in the middle of the street in the 100 block of South Western Avenue, according to the Orange County Register.

About 11 p.m., Anaheim police say the driver of a red Honda Civic struck the female pedestrians near Cabot Drive and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence of alcohol, the Register said.

Sheyla Mendoza, 21, of Anaheim reportedly died at the scene of the pedestrian car accident. The Orange County Sheriff Coroner identified Carmen Mendoza, 56, as one of the two women who later died at UCI Medical Center following the crash. Stephanie Henriquez, 21, also died at the hospital.

The suspected drunk driver and his female passenger were also taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of less serious injuries, the Register said.

“There is no excuse for anyone to drive drunk,” said West Seegmiller, founder of The Seegmiller Law Firm. “While this driver may be held accountable for his actions in criminal court, the victim’s families may also seek justice for their loved ones by filing a wrongful death lawsuit in civil court.”
