SANTA ANA, California (May 23, 2013) – A 3-vehicle injury car crash was blocking the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the southbound State Route 57 freeway at Tonner Canyon Road Thursday morning creating a SigAlert during the busy morning commute, according to a dispatch report issued by the California Highway Patrol.
About 7 a.m., CHP officials reported that at least one person was injured and paramedics were called to the scene of the multi-vehicle car accident. The drivers of a red BMW, a white Ford Ranger and a gray Toyota Camry were exchanging insurance information among themselves upon the arrival of CHP officers. The number of people injured in the crash and the extent of their injuries was not reported in the dispatch report.
“The most common injuries sustained in a car crash involve a person’s neck and back,” said Attorney West Seegmiller. “These types of injuries may not require an ambulance at the scene of the crash as the symptoms typically don’t become apparent to the victim until the following day when the pain sets in. It’s important to seek early treatment to avoid future permanent pain and spine damage.”
