BIG BEAR CITY, California – Raymond Jacobs, 42, of Victorville was killed Friday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck making a turn in front of him on North Greenway Drive, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

According to the press release, Mr. Jacobs was riding his motorcycle eastbound on State Route 38 traveling at about 55 mph, but when he approached the intersection at Greenway Drive another driver made a turn in front of his motorcycle.

Dennis Irwin, 70, of Henderson, Nevada was driving the pickup truck that allegedly pulled in front of Mr. Jacobs who was unable to stop and slammed into the vehicle. Mr. Jacobs was thrown from the motorcycle into the shoulder of the roadway. Paramedics responding to the scene of the crash transported Mr. Jacobs to Bear Valley Community Hospital where he later died of his injuries at 1:12 p.m., the report said.
