PERRIS, California (April 29, 2013) –  Three people were injured in a rollover car crash Sunday night including a man who suffered moderate injuries after being pinned in the wreckage of the accident on the Interstate 215 freeway near the D Street exit, according to a report in the Press Enterprise.

About 7 p.m., a black GMC pickup truck overturned after it veered to the right side of the freeway and crashed into the k-rail, the Press Enterprise said. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department emergency workers were called to the scene of the accident and rescued the injured man and transported him and two others to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, the report said.

Fire officials said the victim who was trapped suffered moderate injuries. One person also refused treatment and was not transported to hospital
California Highway Patrol officers issued a Sigalert following the crash through 9 p.m.

WINCHESTER, California (April 27, 2013) — Ronald Owens, 55, of Sun City was killed Friday afternoon after a crash with the driver of a full-sized pickup truck at the intersection of Winchester and Scott roads according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner Department.

Owens was driving his blue 1993 Mercury Marquis and approaching the intersection on a green light when another driver in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck failed to stop at the red light, the Press Enterprise reported.  The 71-year-old pickup truck driver crashed into the left side of the Mercury. Both vehicles suffered major damage and Owens was critically injured.

Paramedics responding to the scene of the car crash transported Owens by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center in Murrieta.

The fatal car accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Temecula Station

PERRIS, California (April 27, 2013) — Robert Washington, 54, of Moreno Valley was killed and five others injured after a head-on crash late Friday night at the intersection of 4th Street (State Route 74) and Navajo Street, according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner Department.

Just minutes before midnight on Friday, April 26, Washington was driving alone in his Ford Taurus eastbound on SR-74. The driver of a Mazda Protege was traveling with four passengers on the same road in the opposite direction. The Mazda reportedly veered over into opposing traffic for unknown reasons and struck the Ford head on. Washington suffered major injuries and paramedics quickly transported him to Inland Valley Medical Center where he later died the following morning.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Perris Station is investigating the fatal crash to determine exactly what happened. Initial reports indicated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report said.  Police did not reveal the identity of the driver or other occupants in the Mazda due to their age.

RIVERSIDE, California (April 26, 2013) — Harold Stinson, 56, of Twin Peaks was killed Wednesday night in a multi-vehicle traffic accident on the eastbound Highway 91 just east of Jackson Street, according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.

About 4:20 p.m., Stinson was driving his silver X3 BMW sport utility vehicle on Highway 91during rush hour when traffic began to slow down up ahead, the Press Enterprise reported. His SUV was struck from behind when another driver failed to stop quickly enough, the article said. The SUV was pushed into the back of a Toyota pickup truck ahead of Stinson and he was critically injured.

Paramedics who came to the scene of the crash took Stinson to Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside where he later died about 7 p.m., the coroner report said. The driver of the Dodge suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized after the crash.

Police continue to investigate the fatal crash and witnesses are asked to contact Riverside Police Department.

INDIAN WELLS, California (March 31, 2013)  — Three people were injured early Sunday morning after their car was struck from behind by a suspected drunk driver who failed to stop for a red light on Highway 111 at El Dorado Drive, according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

About 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, the driver of a silver Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on Highway 111 and stopped at a red light at El Dorado Drive.  The vehicle was subsequently rear-ended by another driver in a white Ford Explorer.

The three occupants of the Toyota suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Indian Wells Police officers arrested Gaeth Lovato, 47, of La Quinta  after a preliminary investigation reealed he was driving under the influence of alcohol.  Lovato, who was also injured, was taken to hospital for treatment and was later released and booed into county jail in the city of Indio, the report said.
