WILDOMAR, California (March 10, 2013) – Two Temecula residents were killed Sunday afternoon when their car was struck by another driver who allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign on Monte Vista and Bundy Canyon Road, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
About 4:45 p.m., the driver of a white Mercedes 300SE was driving northbound on Monte Vista when it ran through a stop sign at Bundy Canyon and struck an older model red Mercury Tracer sedan driven by an 80-year-old woman, the Wildomar Police Department said. A 64-year-old male passenger in the Mercury died upon impact at the scene of the crash, but the woman was transported by ambulance to Inland Valley Hospital where she died of her injuries about an hour later.
The driver of the Mercedes refused treatment at the scene of the crash, according to a Riverside Fire Department press release.
The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
