CHINO, California – It is unclear why Francisco Flores, Jr. veered off the eastbound Highway 60 onto the right shoulder and struck a parked semi truck and trailer about 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to a San Bernardino County Coroner report.
Mr. Flores, 36, of Chino, was transported to Chino Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at 3:38 a.m.
Flores was driving a 2006 Honda Civic when he collided with the parked 2008 Freightliner occupied by 24-year-old George Velasco of Whittier who was reportedly unhurt after the crash.
The car accident, which took place near Central Avenue, is under investigation by California Highway Patrol officers.
