HEMET, California – One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash Monday on the eastbound lanes of Highway 74 at Winchester Road, according to a press release issued by CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters.
Riverside firefighters responding to the scene of the 4:48 p.m. crash had to cut and rescue the trapped victim from the car wreck, the report said. The report indicated that the vehicle was on its side following the crash. Paramedics rushed the victim with moderate injuries to a nearby hospital for treatment.

There were 203 deaths and 7,974 injuries reported due to car accidents in Riverside County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Report.
