SAN DIEGO, California – Matthew Wayne Maroon, 43, was killed Wednesday night after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle when he swerved to avoid hitting a disabled vehicle on the southbound lanes of the Interstate 805 freeway just south of Interstate 15, according to a San Diego Medical Examiner’s report.
According to the coroner report, Maroon was ejected from the bike into the roadway and subsequently struck by another driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 11:43 p.m.by arriving paramedics who responded to the motorcycle crash.
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the San Diego motorcycle accident to determine who would be at fault in the collision.

“Indeed motorists are required by law to properly maintain their vehicles and must ensure they have sufficient gasoline so they do not run out on our busy freeways,” Seegmiller said. “When a motorist’s vehicle becomes disabled and causes a crash they may be held liable for injuries or the death of another driver.”
