LAKE FOREST, California - As many as five vehicles crashed on the northbound Interstate 5 freeway early Monday morning, blocking several lanes just north of Lake Forest Drive and stalling drivers during the busy morning commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.
By 9 a.m., the CHP issued a SigAlert for three traffic lanes: Nos. 3, 4 and 5.
Drivers involved in the multi-vehicle car accident were able to move the cars to the side of the freeway and eventually clear lanes after more than an hour. The CHP will conduct a complete investigation of the crash to determine its cause and the drivers who are at fault. There was no indication if there were injuries involved.
