Eddie Moore Jr, 38, Killed in Los Angeles Motorcycle Accident

Monday, December 31st, 2012

LOS ANGELES, California –Motorcyclist  Eddie Moore Jr, 38, was killed Wednesday afternoon when the driver of a 1999 Toyota Camry made a left-hand turn in front of his bike at the intersection of Yolanda Avenue and Ingomar Street in the West Valley, according to a press release issued by the Los Angeles Police Department.

About 3:35 p.m. on Dec. 26, 2012, Moore was riding his 2007 Yamaha R1 motorcycle northbound on Yolanda Avenue at what police say was a high rate of speed.  The driver in the Toyota was traveling southbound on Yolanda Avenue and in the process of making a left-hand turn when Moor struck the right, rear portion of the vehicle. Moor was ejected from his motorcycle during the impact and landed about 60 feet north of the intersection while his bike skidded out of control for more than a block before it came to rest, the report said.

Paramedics transported Moor by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of numerous injuries sustained in the crash, but he later died at the medical facility, the report said. The driver of the Toyota was not injured in the crash.

“Motorcyclists are especially vulnerable to injury on our busy roadways especially when drivers make left-hand turns in front of them as it’s difficult to stop quickly,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, founder of the Seegmiller Law Firm. “As a rider myself who has been injured in a motorcycle accident I know all the dangerous moves drivers make that can injure or kill a rider in Southern California.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the motorcycle accident is being asked to contact Detective Stephanie Krajchir, Serial No. 26481, Valley Traffic Division Detectives, at 818-644-8034.

Pedro Almanza Jr., 24, and Daniel Andrade, 17, Killed in Fontana Car Crash

Monday, December 31st, 2012

FONTANA, California – Two passengers were killed Saturday night when the driver of the Honda Civic they were riding in lost control of the vehicle and was struck by a Ford Explorer on N. Riverside Avenue near Sierra Avenue, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

About 8:08 p.m. on Dec. 29, Pedro Almanza, Jr, 24, of Rialto and Daniel Andrade, 17, of Rialto were reportedly killed in the two-vehicle collision, the coroner reported. The driver of the 2009 Honda Civic they were riding in and the Ford Explorer were both injured in the crash and hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

Prior to the crash, the driver of the Honda was traveling in a southbound lane of N. Riverside Avenue, the coroner reported. Fontana Police do not know why the driver lost control, spun around and into the northbound lanes, but they are investigating the crash to determine what happened.

“The families of victims killed in a car crash can hold the driver responsible and liable for their loved one’s wrongful death,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, founder of The Seegmiller Law Firm. “Studies have shown that victims who are represented by an attorney typically obtain 3.5 times more in compensation for their losses than if they handled the claim directly with an insurance adjuster.”
