LOS ANGELES, California (October 31, 2013) – Five people were injured including one who was seriously hurt in a 3-vehicle collision Wednesday night in the 6400 block of N. Shoup Avenue, according to a dispatch by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

About 8 p.m., LA Fire fighters responded to the multi-vehicle car crash and transported five people by ambulance to nearby hospitals. Four of the people were in fair condition and one serious, the report said.

The crash, which took place between Vanowen Street and Victory Boulevard, is under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. Police will determine liability for the incident.

“Those injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles should refrain from attempting to determine liability at the scene and exchange insurance information with all parties involved,” said Attorney West Seegmiller. “Hire an experienced injury attorney to help negotiate the best settlement possible if you are injured and would like to be compensated for your losses.”

Minor Injuries Reported in Big Rig Versus Car Crash

MODESTO, California (October 31, 2013) – A semi-tractor trailer truck struck a driver who subsequently crashed into a pole and sheered it off Thursday morning on W Main Street near N. Mitchell Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.

About 8:22 a.m., the driver of a black Honda Accord crashed into a pole after it was struck by the big rig truck driver and pinned in the wreckage. The truck was blocking the roadway.

Paramedics were called to treat and possibly transport those who suffered minor injuries in the collision.

“Police will investigate the crash to determine liability,” said Attorney West Seegmiller. “Truck drivers must follow strict rules of the road. Those hurt in a crash with a trucker are advised to seek legal counsel rather than deal directly with a driver’s insurance company.”

Indeed, studies have shown that people who are represented by an attorney typically obtain 3.5 times more compensation than those who work directly with an insurance adjuster, Seegmiller said.
