MECCA, California –   Nine people were injured in a car crash late Saturday afternoon on Highway 86 near Highway 195, according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Fire Department.

About 5:30 p.m., emergency workers with the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision involving two vehicles and multiple patients. There were two people who suffered moderate injuries in the crash and one person suffered minor injuries. Paramedics transported these three people to a hospital for treatment.

Six others involved in the crash had minor injuries, but there not taken to hospital, the report said..
