ESCONDIDO: (September 17, 2013)- The owner of the Wahaha Child Care Center in Escodido named Xiao Yan Hu, allegedly threw a metal chair at a six-year-old girl named Imani Shannon, whom was in her care. An investigation by The California Department of Social Services found truth to the allegations after the small girl suffered bruises and scars to her face and cheeks.
According to the CDSS report, it was found that on in August the incident occurred based on interviews of staff and other children. The Wahaha Center was ordered to shut its doors immediately because of the posed risk to the health and safety of the daycare children. The mother of the injured little girl, Keilana Shannon, was furious when Hu attempted to silence her child by buying her a bag of 80 Tootsie Roll Pops and then allegedly asked the little girl not to tell her mother about the incident. The girl’s mother feels her little girl was targeted.
“This is a clear case of child abuse, as stated in the CDSS report. It is unfortunate that this happened to such a small child who will need help in processing what happened. Clearly, Ms. Shannon needs to seek legal representation right away,” states attorney West Seegmiller, owner of The Seegmiller Law Firm in San Diego and Newport Beach.
