Bicyclist Guadalupe Cruz Killed in Crash with Tractor Trailer Truck in Fillmore

FILLMORE, California – Bicyclist Guadalupe Cruz, 81, was struck by a big rig truck and killed on the morning of Wednesday, June 6 at the intersection of Ventura Street and C Street, according to a Fillmore Police Department press release.

Truck driver Victor Leija was making a turn on a green light at the intersection when he struck down Cruz at the intersection about 8:27 a.m., the report said.

Cruz suffered major injuries in the bicycle accident. Paramedics arriving at the scene of the truck accident transported Cruz by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center where he was treated, but died later the same day at 4:41 p.m.
