SKY VALLEY, California –  (Riverside County)  Two people riding a motorcycle were killed and three others suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon in a crash between a motorcycle and a truck on Dillon Road at Hot Springs Road, according to a Riverside County Fire Department press release.

According to the news release, about 3:39 p.m. Riverside firefighters were called to the scene of the crash between the two vehicles. A man and woman who were on the motorcycle died at the scene of the traffic accident.

Luis Magana, who was driving the truck, allegedly crashed into the motorcycle as it was attempting to make a turn at the intersection. He suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash to determine whether speed was a factor.

“Motorists need to share the road with motorcycle riders who are more vulnerable in crashes,” said Attorney West Seegmiller. “As a rider myself, I know the risks involved as I was fortunate to survive my own bike crash.”
