Victim Thrown from Car and Killed in Crash on 71 and 91 Freeways
CORONA, California (Jan. 31, 2014) – At least one person is dead and several others injured Friday morning after a collision involving four vehicles took place on the northbound State Route 71 Corona Freeway at the transition to the eastbound State Route 91 Riverside Freeway near the Prado Flood Control Basin, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 11:07 a.m., CHP officers responded to the car accident involving a black Jeep and a green SUV where one person was ejected and went over the side of an embankment.
Corona Firefighters responded to the fatal crash to assist those who were hurt in the multivehicle accident and a helicopter ambulance was also sent to the scene.
Three tow trucks also responded to assist in removing disabled vehicles and debris from the scene of the crash.
“Our prayers are with the family of the person who was killed as well as those who were injured in this crash as they try to make sense of this accident and come to terms with their loss,” said Attorney West Seegmiller.
