HOLLISTER, California - A stray pit bull mix dog attacked a 9-year-old girl and her father in front of her home near Jan Avenue and Gabriele Court Saturday afternoon, according to news reports.
The child was walking with her dad when a loose dog attacked her in the street as she went to her family’s mail box about 3 p.m. Police said the girl was bitten on her arm and when her father intercepted to save her it turned on him and bit his hand and leg. Both dog bite attack victims were treated for moderate injuries at a nearby hospital.
Police worked with animal control workers to scan the neighborhood in an effort to locate the stray animal described as a white pit bull mix dog.
