HANFORD, California (August 1, 2013) – The driver of a red car slide partially underneath an empty semi-tractor trailer truck used for hauling cattle Thursday morning on the State Route 198 Hanford Expressway near 1st Avenue in the San Joaquin Valley, according to a dispatch report by the California Highway Patrol.

About 7:20 a.m., CHP officers reported there was a three-vehicle injury crash on the SR-198 expressway involving a big rig truck and the drivers of a car and a pickup truck. The red vehicle slide under the big rig and the pickup truck was off the roadway in a ditch, the report said.

The Tulare and Kings County Fire Departments responded to the scene of the injury crash, but there were no details about any injuries.

“Drivers involved in a crash with a big rig truck can be seriously injured or killed,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, a truck accident specialist. “Truck drivers are required to follow strict guidelines while traveling on roadways including limited hours behind the wheel, scheduled maintenance and weight restrictions. An expert truck accident attorney can investigate this collision to help determine liability.”
