HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (Sept. 11, 2013) — Ruben Cecilio, 75, of Huntington Beach died early Tuesday morning just hours after he was involved in a car accident with another driver at Garfield Avenue and Brookhurst Street, according to a press release by the Orange County Sheriff Coroner.

About 1:17 p.m. on Sept. 9, Cecilio was driving his car near the intersection when he collided with another motorist and was critically injured. Paramedics responded to the traffic accident and transported Cecilio by ambulance to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he died the next day at 3:25 a.m., the report said.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort this man’s family and friends as they cope with such an incredible loss,” Attorney West Thomas said.  “The thoughts and prayers of our staff are with them as they try to piece together what happened and come to terms with his death.”
