IRVINE, California (July 24, 2013) — Motorcyclist David Richmond, 56, of Lake Forest was identified as the rider who was struck and killed in a crash with an SUV at the intersection of Alton Parkway and Irvine Boulevard, according to a dispatch report filed by the California Highway Patrol.

Just before 11 a.m., CHP officers responded to a 911 call informing them of a major accident between a motorcycle and a Lexus SUV.

Reporting witnesses said the motorcyclist was thrown about 5 feet from his bike. They added that someone on scene tried to revive him before paramedics arrived.

When emergency officials arrived, the man was pronounced dead.

The Irvine Police Department is investigating the incident.

“Motorcyclists are often times overlooked on the roadways,” said Attorney West Seegmiller of Seegmiller Law Firm. “Drivers are often times distracted on the roadways, and if you are someone you know are injured as a result of an accident that wasn’t your fault you should be properly compensated.”
