NEWBERRY SPRINGS, California — Juan Galvan, 9, of Turlock died in a rollover crash on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway, just over a mile from Afton Road according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

Galvan was a passenger riding in a 1997 Ford Explorer whose driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and crashed into the center divider about 12:55 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2012.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the single-vehicle crash to determine its cause and police are requesting any witnesses to contact the CHP at (760) 255-8700.
