Roy Stewart Winslow, 59, of El Cajon was killed Sunday when his motorcycle crashed into a sofa abandoned on the westbound lanes of State Route 94 and he was thrown from the bike into the path of another motorcyclist traveling behind him, according to a San Diego Medical Examiner’s report.
Winslow was alone on his motorcycle at the time of the 6:31 p.m. crash located on State Route 94 just west of State Route 15 freeway. Paramedics called to the scene of the motorcycle accident transported the injured man to Scripps Mercy Hospital where he died in the emergency room a short time later at 7:05 p.m.
“Tragically our roadways are littered with debris that has fallen from vehicles creating a deadly hazard for all drivers, but particularly motorcyclists such as Mr. Winslow,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, founder of the Seegmiller Law Firm. “As a rider myself I know this is one of many dangerous conditions motorcyclists face and my heart goes out to this family.”
