SAN BERNARDINO, California (June 10, 2013) – Dr. Allen Newton, 66, of Lake Arrowhead was killed Friday morning in a head-on car crash on Waterman Avenue at Marshall Street, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.
About 11:44 a.m., Newton, a board certified anesthesiologist, was driving his green Ford Taurus southbound on Waterman Avenue and Brian Lynn Bohn, 33, of San Bernardino was heading northbound with his girlfriend and a 6-month-old baby in a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
Police believe that prior to the fatal crash, Bohn was allegedly engaged in an argument with this girlfriend and was driving erratically at a high rate of speed. He had just exited the Interstate 210 freeway prior to the car accident, according to ROTW News. The coroner said Bohn crossed over the double lines on the roadway and crashed head-on into Newton’s sedan.
Newton was pronounced dead at the scene upon arrival of emergency workers. Bohn, his female passenger and the baby were all taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where they were listed in critical condition, according to police.
The San Bernardino Police Department is investigating this traffic collision.
