MENIFEE, California – One person was killed, one suffered major injuries and one moderate injuries Thursday afternoon after a traffic collision at McCall Boulevard and Encanto Drive, according to a press release issued by the Riverside Fire Department.
Riverside Fire emergency workers had to extricate victims trapped in the wreckage of the car accident, but one of the victims died at the scene, the report said.
“There are no words that can lift the burden of grief and sorrow the families and friends of these victims are experiencing right now,” Attorney West Thomas said. “The thoughts and prayers of our staff are with the victims of this crash.”

According to the California Highway Patrol Statewide Integrated Traffic Report there were 623 pedestrians killed and 12,668 injured in 2010 in California, according to the CHP traffic report.
National data compiled by the National Highway Transportation and Safety Authority shows that pedestrian injuries and fatalities in the United States were up 4.9% in 2010 to 4,280 deaths and injuries were up 19% in 2010 to 70,000 people injured.
