SEAL BEACH, California – A motorcycle rider was killed Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on the westbound lanes of the 22 Garden Grove freeway at the off ramp to 7th Street, according to a dispatch report issued by the California Highway Patrol.

About 12 p.m., CHP officers responded to the scene of the motorcycle accident in the No. 1 lane of the roadway and found the James Robinett, 57, of Long Beach had died of his injuries, the report said.

Police closed down Old Ranch Parkway onramp where it enters the westbound 22. Also, the 7th Street off ramp was closed just after 12 p.m. and the CHP issued a SigAlert for the crash at 12:17 p.m.
