VISTA, California – A repeat drunk driver accused of killing a motorcyclist after he drove against traffic on the Interstate 15 freeway Saturday has been scheduled for arraignment in court on Wednesday, according to a Valley News article.

Brian Joseph Webb, 24, of Murrieta, who is accused of driving with a suspended driver’s license at the time of the crash, was arrested shortly after Saturday’s head-on collision on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, hit and run and drunk driving with a prior conviction.

The crash took place about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Webb was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 truck when he allegedly entered the northbound I-15 freeway’s Del Lago off ramp from the wrong direction. The truck crashed head-on into Robin Vaughn, 60, of Escondido who was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson northbound in the same lane.

The truck killed Vaughn upon impact. The retired neurophysiologist had been married for 40 years to his wife Donetta and had five children and 15 grand children, according to the article. The couple were Mormons and were about to embark on an 18-month service mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according U-T San Diego report.

RANCHO SANTA FE: Woman Killed, Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash on Via De Fortuna

RANCHO SANTA FE, California – Stephanie Lynn England, 49, of Escondido died Saturday night after the driver of the 3-wheeled 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle she was riding on lost control of the vehicle, the bike rolled down an embankment and she was pinned underneath it, according to news reports and a press release issued by the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Department.

England died about 10:30 p.m. at the scene of the crash, the report said.

According to the report and an article in the North County Times, William Jimenez, 58, of Escondido was driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle in the 10800 block of Via De Fortuna at the time of the crash. Jimenez suffered major injuries in the crash and was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment, the news article said. Police suspect that alcohol may be a factor in the motorcycle crash, however, there were no further details provided.

Michael Johnson, 47, Killed After Mini-van Makes Left-turn in Front of his Harley Davidson

VICTORVILLE, California – Motorcyclist Michael P. Johnson, 47, was killed early Monday morning after a Ford mini-van turned left in front of him and he lost control of his 2005 Harley Davidson on D Street, according to a press release by the Victorville Police Department.

Johnson, who is from the small nearby town of Apple Valley, was traveling westbound on D Street approaching Second Street at the time of the crash. The other driver in the van was traveling eastbound on the same street. The crash caused Johnson to be ejected from his motorcycle and he fell into the roadway. Paramedics transported Johnson to Victor Valley Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:26 a.m.

The Victorville Police Department is investigating the motorcycle accident and gathering evidence to determine exactly why the two vehicles crashed and who was at fault.
