LAS VEGAS, Nevada(Jan. 11, 2013) — Jesse Hill, 18, was walking on the sidewalk with his girlfriend on New Year’s Day when he was struck and killed by an out-of-control driver in the 6600 block of Gliding Eagle near Centennial Parkway.

His 16-year-old girlfriend is still in critical condition.

Hill,  a graduate of Northwest Career Technical Academy,  was a student at Embry Riddle University in Arizona where he was studying aeronautical engineering. His family, friends, and fellow students lit candles at a memorial held this week in his memory.

Hill’s family states this has been a very trying a difficult time for them. A family member stated that Hill was “full of life.” The driver and passenger of the vehicle that hit Hill, Christian Diaz and Ricardo Velasquez, were both arrested for speeding, driving off the road, and drug-related charges.
