Rollover Truck Accident on Interstate 15 Freeway Causes Fuel Spill, Injuries
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Sept. 5, 2013) – One person was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after two big rig trucks collided on the Interstate 15 Freeway near Sloan Road, according to a report by the Las Vegas Sun.
About 4:20 a.m., the two trucks crashed and one overturned on the freeway, emptying roughly 25 gallons of diesel fuel into the roadway, the report said. Paramedics responded to the scene of the truck accident and took one person to University Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, the Nevada Highway Patrol told the newspaper.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the truck accident to determine liability for the crash and the Nevada Department of Transportation was on the scene to clean up the fuel spill.
“Truck drivers spend a lot of time on our freeways and there are many things that may contribute to this type of crash, but an investigation will likely determine liability in this case,” said Attorney West Thomas, a personal injury lawyer in Nevada.
