NEWPORT BEACH, California (July 15, 2013) – Three women and one man were injured Sunday night when the driver of one boat crashed almost head-on into another boat near the entrance of the harbor, capsizing one boat and sending all four people to local hospitals according to news reports.
Just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call informing them of a major accident between a 25-foot cigarette-type boat that slammed into a smaller 22-foot Boston Whaler boat. Two people were injured on each boat and all four were hospitalized following the accident.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
