LAS VEGAS, Nevada (February 26, 2013) – A woman was hit by a car while she was walking on the sidewalk of Valley View Boulevard near Sahara Avenue. The woman has been identified by the Clark County coroner as 52-year-old Brenda Kay Smiley. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and was later found and arrested for hit-and-run as well as DUI.
According to a report in the KLAS TV Las Vegas, the suspected drunk driver Jason Manuma could barely stand and was slurring his speech when police caught up with him. Police also searched his truck and found marijuana paraphernalia.
