According to an article in The Las Vegas Sun, a semitruck hit a person in a wheelchair this morning at the intersection of West Sahara Avenue and South Valley View Boulevard. A caller reported the incident at 9:42 a.m. this morning. The victim was transported to University Medical Center Trauma. Laura Meltzer, a Metro spokesperson stated that the victim sustained “substantial but not life-threatening injuries.” Meltzer made it clear that the victim’s condition is still subject to change. Police are continuing their investigation and the names of the driver and the victim have not yet been released.
