SAN JACINTO, California – William Steele, 41, of Homeland was killed Tuesday night in a fiery wreck after he struck another vehicle and lost control of his at the intersection of State Street and Esplanade Avenue, according to reports by CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner Department.
Steele’s vehicle burst into flames and he was ejected in the crash as he was not wearing his seatbelt, according to the reports. Paramedics responding to the scene pronounced him dead upon their arrival, but noted that he suffered no burns in the wreck. The fire burned for about 15 minutes until responding fire fighters managed to put it out.
The other driver was not injured in the crash and the two drivers were both alone in their vehicles, the reports said.
