Jurupa Valley Woman, 84, Injured in Pit Bull Dog Attack

Monday, January 28th, 2013

JURUPA VALLEY, California  – An 84-year-old woman was severely injured Thursday, Jan. 17, when she was attacked by two pit bull mix dogs at the intersection of 54th and Beach streets in the Mira Loma area, according to a report by the Riverside County Animal Services.

About 9:40 a.m., a neighbor called paramedics after hearing a woman being attacked by a pair of vicious dogs in the 9700 block of 54th Street. The neighbor managed to kick and chase the dogs away from the injured woman. The dogs apparently had escaped from under a fence at a property next to the woman who had been attacked.

Emergency workers responding to the call found the woman had suffered bites on several locations of her body, the report said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Both dogs were impounded at Western Riverside county/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley where it was noted that one was male and the other female. Neither one of the animals had been fixed, vaccinated for rabies, licensed or microchipped as required under city and state laws. The dogs’ owner was given citations and the animals were turned over for humane destruction, the report said.

Monday, January 28th, 2013

MENIFEE, California (Jan. 26, 2013) – Riverside Firefighters rescued a person who was trapped in their vehicle Saturday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Lindenberger Road at Domenigoni Parkway, according to a press release issued by the Riverside County Fire Department.

Just after 10 a.m., paramedics responded to the scene of the crash and transported the injured person to a nearby hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, the report said.

“There are many reasons why someone may lose control of a vehicle including dangerous conditions in the roadway, interference of other drivers, or mechanical problems,” said Attorney West Seegmiller. “It’s important to find out what happened to determine whether someone else is liable for your injuries so that you may be compensated for losses right away.”
