HESPERIA: Crash Kills Man, 25, on Bear Valley Road

Tracy Peine of Hesperia Killed in Crash on Bear Valley Road

HESPERIA, California  (Sept. 9, 2013) – Tracy Peine, 25, of Hesperia was killed Monday night when the car he was riding in crashed in the vicinity of Bear Valley Road and Third Avenue, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.

About 6:42 p.m., police and paramedics were called to the scene of the crash involving a Ford Escort and found Peine suffering from major injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by San Bernardino County Fire Department emergency workers.

The fatal crash is under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Major Accident Investigation Team. The young man was reportedly wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, the report said.

CHINO HILLS: Landscaper Benjamin Covarrubias-Herrera, 46, Struck and Killed by Motorist

CHINO HILLS, California (July 25, 2013) – Benjamin Covarrubias-Herrera, 46, of Chino Hills was killed Wednesday morning after he was struck by a car while working as a landscaper on Grand Avenue, just east of Calle San Marcos, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.

About 10:30 a.m., Covarrubias-Herrera was working outside on the job when for unknown reasons a motorist struck him. Paramedics responded to the crash and took him by ambulance to the Chino Valley Medical Center where he later died at 11:08 a.m.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash to determine liability.

SAN BERNARDINO: Four-Vehicle Accident on Little Creek Road Sending 4 to Hospital

SAN BERNARDINO, California (July 2, 2013) – Four ambulances were needed just after rush-hour after a white Lincoln Navigator overturned near Lytle Creek, about four miles north of Sierra, according to a dispatch report filed by the California Highway Patrol.

Just before 7 p.m., CHP officers received several 911 calls from witness explaining that their was a four-vehicle traffic collision on Lytle Creek Road, just south of Ranger Drive.

Witnesses said that three people crawled out from the Navigator, but it appeared at least two people were still trapped inside. There was no information as to how the accident transpired, or how many other injuries there were.

At least four people were transported by paramedics to an area hospital, but the extent and severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

SAN BERNARDINO: Two Car Collision on I-15 Freeway after Car Stalls Out in No. 3 Lane

SAN BERNARDINO, California (July 2, 2013) – There was a two vehicle accident late Monday night after a car stalled in the No. 3 lane and was struck by a vehicle at a high-rate of speed on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway near Kenwood Avenue, according to a dispatch report filed by the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 10 p.m., CHP officers received several 911 calls from witnesses explaining that a grey sedan had stalled on the 15 Freeway, and an oncoming light colored sedan, going at least 70 mph, rear-ended the stalled vehicle.

Witnesses said the injured parties appeared to be “very serious.”

At least two people were transported by paramedics to an area hospital, but the extent and severity of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

Michael Schmidt, 56, of Paramount Killed in Solo Crash on Amboy Road

SAN BERNARDINO, California (June 3, 2013) — Michael Gerard Schmidt, 56, of Paramount was killed Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on Amboy Road in Wonder Valley, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

About 5:44 p.m., CHP officials reported that Schmidt was riding his motorcycle on his way to visit with friends. He was traveling a short disatance, but on the way he someone slid off the roadway into the sandy shoulder and rolled into the desert, the report said

Paramedics who responded to the scene of the motorcycle accident pronounced him dead at the scene about 6:06 p.m., the report said. CHP officers are investigating the motorcycle crash to determine what may have caused the bike to slide off the roadway.

“Police will likely gather evidence to determine whether another vehicle was involved or if road conditions contributed to the motorcycle crash,” said Attorney West Seegmiller.
