San Bernardino Accident Attorney Reports on Fatal Highway 62 Crash
YUCCA VALLEY, California (August 19, 2013) – A 56-year-old Yucca Valley woman died Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle on State Highway 62 at Scarvan Avenue, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department. On Tuesday, the coroner identified the victim as Judity M. James.
About 8:24 p.m., the woman was a pedestrian on Highway 62 when she was hit by a driver and suffered a critical head injury. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of the crash as well as paramedics, but the woman was pronounced dead just minutes after the crash at 8:32 p.m.
A full investigation is underway by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
“Pedestrians are especially vulnerable to injury or death when they are out of their vehicle on a busy highway, however, motorists must proceed with caution when they are driving past the ,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, whose offices are about a mile from the scene of the crash. “The circumstances of this tragic accident are not fully known at this time, but my condolences go out to the family of this woman as they cope with her sudden loss.”
