NATIONAL CITY, California (June 24th 2013)- A man from National City named Damone Carter, was taken into custody today after suspicions that he raped a woman he had met on a popular dating website, PlentyofFish.com. Carter, 24, was arrested at his apartment located at East 8th Street by South Euclid Avenue, states police Sgt. Alex Hernandez. According to Hernandez, Carter had been in communication with the female victim for many days prior to the rape.
The two had met on PlentyofFish.com and eventually the victim agreed to meet Carter at his apartment for a first meeting. After being raped, the victim was able to flee the apartment and contact police from her cellphone. Police responded to her call and Carter came out front of his apartment at about 1:10 p.m. and was arrested. He was booked into the George Bailey Detention Facility at about 8 p.m. after he had a medical examination to determine crime details. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. He is being held on several felony counts including rape by force according to Sgt. Hernandez.
