LAS VEGAS: (September 25, 2013) – A Las Vegas Attorney is filing a class action lawsuit against the Regional Transportation Commission because he says the more than 1000 bus stop shelters that they operate are dangerous “death traps” to those who use them, according to 8 News Now. This attorney feels that more needs to be done by the city in order to protect bus riders and things are not moving fast enough.
This lawsuit comes in the wake of an incident on Friday in which three small boys were severely injured after a being hit at a bus stop shelter at Bonanza Road and Lamb Boulevard, the report said. The lawsuit is pushing to make bus stop shelters more than five feet away from the curb. The lawsuit is not seeking punitive damages.
