SAN DIMAS, California (Oct. 4, 2013) –  Police arrested a suspected drunken driver early Friday morning following a two-vehicle minor injury crash on the southbound State Route 57 Freeway at Via Verde, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.

About 3:20 a.m., Baldwin Park CHP officers were contacted by a woman who said her husband called her to tell her he was injured in the traffic accident. The woman told police the vehicles involved were a black Volkswagen and a grey Toyota Tundra pickup truck and the cars were in the center divider of the freeway.

The male driver of one of the vehicles was given a sobriety test and subsequently booked on misdemeanor DUI charges after being treated for minor injuries, the report said.

“Drivers under the influence of alcohol are a danger to everyone on our freeways,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, a supporter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. “Anyone injured in a crash with a DUI driver can hold the other driver liable for their financial losses.”
