SAN FRANCISCO, California (July 21, 2013) – A motorcyclist was struck and severely injured on the northbound side of the US 101 just south of the Grand Avenue onramp, according to a dispatch report filed by the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 10 p.m., CHP officers received a 911 call informing them that a motorcycle had been struck by a vehicle, and after flipping off the bike, flying into the center divider, the rider was laying in the roadway.

Emergency officials arrived on scene, and paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

“Motorcyclists are often times overlooked on the roadways,” said Attorney West Seegmiller of Seegmiller Law Firm. “Drivers are often times distracted on the roadways, and if you are someone you know are injured as a result of an accident that wasn’t your fault you should be properly compensated.”
