Two-Vehicle Car Crash on State Route 12 at State Route 113
BIRDS LANDING, California (Sept. 20, 2013) – Major injuries were reported Friday morning after a head-on car crash took place on the State Route 12 Officer David Lamoree Memorial Highway at the State Route 113 Birds Landing Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 6:30 a.m., CHP officers reported the Solano County car crash between the drivers of a white Honda and a gray Honda Civic near a field of windmills in this rural community Southeast of Fairfield, California.
One of the victims became trapped in the wreckage and CHP officers reported that paramedics came to cut and rescue the individuals and transport them to nearby medical facilities. Police say both vehicles suffered major damage in the crash and the Rio Vista Police Department was called in to help CHP officers at the scene.
A SigAlert was issued about 6:54 a.m., but eventually canceled about 8 a.m., the report said.
“Those involved in this horrible car crash will need plenty of support in the aftermath of this accident,” said Attorney West Thomas.
