ONTARIO, California  - The driver of a stolen Ford Coupe lost control of the vehicle Tuesday morning as he was attempting to escape arrest by the California Highway Patrol and crashed into two cars as he drove through the intersection of Miliken Avenue and Fourth Street, according to news reports.

Two people were reportedly injured in the 3-vehicle collision and emergency workers transported them to nearby hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries, news reports said.

The pursuit began after CHP officers pulled over the driver of the Ford for speeding about 10:10 a.m. near Costco on Fourth Street.  After requesting the man’s license, CHP officers saw it did not belong to the man driving and subsequently checked the vehicle’s identification number. As police began to place the man under arrest, he sped away in the stolen car and the pursuit followed, ending when the driver struck the two vehicles and was arrested by CHP.
