LAS VEGAS, Nevada (August 8, 2013) – A woman has lost her life today from injuries she sustained in an accident with a cement truck yesterday. The incident was reported at 10:54 a.m. yesterday near the intersection of Strange Avenue and Cliff Shadows Parkway in northwest Las Vegas, according to Metro police.

A 24-year-old woman was driving her gold sedan northbound on Strange Avenue when she made a left turn at a stop sign onto Cliff Shadows. An oncoming Kentworth cement dump truck slammed into her vehicle, ramming into her driver’s side door. The woman was severely injured and taken to the ER at University Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries and died.

“When a semi-truck of any kind, especially a dense cement truck, hits a driver’s side of a vehicle, the potential for severe injury or death is almost certain.” Metro Police are continuing an investigation of the crash.
